A Century of Clean Water
100 for 100 giveback

Celebrating 100 Years
2025 marked a momentous milestone for our trusted vendor, EcoWater Systems: 100 years of delivering cleaner, safer water to homes and businesses around the world. In 1925 when EcoWater’s founder Lynn G. Lindsay Sr. received the world’s first patent for an automatic water softener, home water needs were a lot different. No one was worried about microplastics or “forever chemicals” back then—because they didn’t exist yet. While we’re not sure what home water needs everyone will have 100 years from now, we are committed to continuous education and training to tackle any water quality concern to come.
To commemorate this centennial achievement, EcoWater launched an ambitious initiative to give away 100 water treatment systems to families and worthy organizations who otherwise couldn’t afford them — a gesture that embodies the company’s long-standing mission to improve lives through better water quality. We partnered with EcoWater to donate a full water treatment system to a deserving organization in our local community, the South Side Mission.
A Worthy Cause
The South Side Mission has been a beacon of hope and transformation for 100 years, primarily serving the residents of the 61605 zip code, a highly-populated and disadvantaged community in our area. The South Side Mission has a variety of programs such as soup kitchens, holiday meals, youth and after-school programs, culinary training, thrift stores, home improvement and more. The children and adults they serve may not have access to healthy drinking water – something everyone deserves access to.

Peoria Water
The water quality in Central Illinois is extremely high when it comes to hardness (calcium and magnesium). Reference the image below, which displays a map of the United States hardness levels by area. Hard water creates costly problems with plumbing, appliances and fixtures, laundry and dishware. In Peoria specifically, it is common to test hardness levels between 20-35 grains per gallon. In addition to hardness, the Peoria metropolitan area has other contaminants of emerging concern. The specific zip code that the South Side Mission serves has extremely old plumbing systems, making the homes and businesses at risk for lead contamination. There are also wells in our area that contain PFAS and one well specifically that has forever chemicals exceeding the limit set by the EPA. We installed a commercial water softener and reverse osmosis systems at their facility to provide soft, high-quality drinking water to their staff and visitors.

Building a Legacy
As a third-generation business, we strive to create a lasting impression on our local community and those that reside in it. Access to clean, safe water shouldn’t be a luxury. When families are forced to choose between damaged appliances, ruined clothing or expensive bottled water, they’re facing not just an inconvenience but a quality-of-life issue that affects health, finances and peace of mind. Being the trusted professionals when it comes to water quality is a responsibility we take seriously and we do not take for granted the opportunity to improve the lives of every person we do business with. We look forward to celebrating 100 years of Quality Water Solutions in 2037!
